Cut-Film Collage
ANALOG PORTRAITS, CUT APART AND REBUILT
I begin by photographing each subject on film, then physically cut the images apart, layer them, and rebuild them into new portraits in the darkroom.
The process treats the photograph as both image and material. A face becomes less like a fixed record of a person and more like memory: fragmented, repeated, distorted, and constantly rearranging itself. These portraits sit somewhere between photography, collage, reconstruction, and the strange emotional logic of remembering someone.
Available as a specialty portrait process for artists, musicians, couples, performers, and anyone who wants images that feel more like memory than standard promo photography.
